New venues for the Summer 2008

In the summer of 2007 the Principal Theatre Company were invited to take their exciting production of Twelfth Night into two new venues in London – Lloyd Square WC1 and Freightliner’s Farm in Islington.

These shows were private performances, and were so well received that we have been asked back by both venues to stage
Romeo & Juliet this summer.

Letter received from
LLOYD SQUARE

17th August 2007

Dear Paul
Thank you for providing us with a wonderful evening last Monday - everyone was absolutely enchanted by your production of Twelfth Night and huge congratulations to you and your troupe for all the hard work you put into creating such an entertaining performance. It was refreshing to see Shakespeare performed with such
fun and excitement.

Speaking on behalf of all the residents it was a particular delight to share our beautiful square with friends and family, and in our own case we had 3 generations all of whom were transfixed, including my 7 year old niece who is still raving about it.

All of the residents who were able to come last week have written to say how much they enjoyed the evening and in all cases have pledged their support to next year’s performance! I hope we can arrange this when you make your 2008 plans.

Many thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards,
Mark Walton

Education Programme 2008

We are extremely grateful to MWG Designs - who remains The Principal Theatre Company's Educational Sponsor for the 2008 Programme.
A selection of Enfield Schools will receive free Shakespeare workshops thanks to MWG Designs and will receive vouchers enabling them to see the summer production at Forty Hall of charge when accompanied by a paying adult.

Over 100 North London Secondary Schools and Colleges have been sent information regarding The Principal Theatre Company's Shakespeare workshops. Last year over 850 pupils took part in these Shakespeare workshops and it is hoped that more schools will take part this year.

For more information regarding these Shakespeare workshops please contact Paul on 020 8886 7584.
SCHOOL’S PERFORMANCE  OF   ROMEO + JULIET  At FORTY HALL

On July 9th we will be staging a school’s performance of Romeo + Juliet at Forty Hall

For the first time the Principal Theatre Company is offering local schools a fantastic opportunity to see this excellent open air Shakespeare production within the gorgeous grounds of the Grade I Listed Heritage site - Forty Hall in Enfield.  We normally perform at Forty Hall after the summer term time - before transferring to Coram’s Fields in WC1 for 3 weeks - where they have gained 4 stars from both ‘Time Out’ and ‘What’s On’ for the past two years. But this summer we are bringing the performance forward to accommodate local schools wishing to see our fantastic production.

Romeo & Juliet will be on the SATS syllabus from 2009. Why not give your students the head start they deserve.
